The Blessing of Quality Education

Updated: Mar 10, 2020

Have you considered sending your child to a private school, but are deterred by the cost?

Or maybe you are looking for a way to bless a student with quality educational choice this year?

Empower Illinois is a 501(c)(3) Scholarship Granting Organization created in 2017 with the mission to expand quality education options for low-income and working-class families in Illinois. One way they achieve this is through the “Invest in Kids” tax credit scholarship program, which makes private schools a viable option for many families who otherwise would not be able to afford this educational option.

The Tax Credit Scholarship for K-12 students will cover up to 100% of private school tuition up to a maximum of the average Illinois cost to educate, which is roughly $13,000. Students with unique learning needs, including those who are gifted, English language learners, or those with special education qualifications, may be eligible to receive larger scholarships—up to double—roughly $26,000.

To see if your family qualifies to receive the scholarship, visit THIS LINK.

In order to reserve your place, you must fill out and submit basic information HERE on January 15 at 6:30pm. On a first come, first served basis, those who get through will be notified later to complete part two of the application for a chance of receiving a scholarship.

To incentivize giving to fund this program, Illinois residents and businesses that contribute receive a credit to deduct from their federal taxes and their state income taxes. For more information on donating and receiving tax credit, please visit THIS PAGE.
